WHY LEARNING TO CODE?

ICT as a transformational tool that turned the world into a global village continues to increasingly make the world digitalised with the development of programs that models human capacity of mind, called AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Artificial Intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence in machines, especially computer systems. Artificial Intelligence is a field of study in computer science that focuses on enablement of human capacity of mind (intelligence) replication in machines, robots, or software (computer) by coding, also known as programming. AI involves development of computer programs to be used in the areas where emulation (replication) of human capacity of mind (intelligence) is required. It is based on algorithms that can perceive, learn to understand logical reasoning and problem solving, and decision making.
In simple meaning, AI is the use of computer hardware and written programs called software to model human functions (to think and act like humans).
Some of the application areas of AI, which are the areas where Artificial Intelligence is used or applied include the following:
- Web search engines
- Speech and face recognition system
- Language translation
- Robotic decision making
- Healthcare technology
- GPS (Global Positioning System) technology for satellite-based navigation
What exactly is Coding?
In simple and crystal definition, coding (also known as programming) is the process of using special characters and alphanumeric to write instructions called program that computer can act upon by executing.
Code is instructions called program and is written by programmers by using special characters and alphanumeric that follows the syntax of a coding language. This mean, a code as instruction is written in a specific language in order to be executable by computer. For example, an automated entrance door may be instructed (programmed) to open when it detects someone walking closer to it.
Benefits of Coding
Coding gives the ability to instruction computer to perform certain action and helps to solve problems, whilt it also present the opportunities such as to work remotely amidst others. Some amongst the benefits of coding include the following:
